WELCOME FROM THE VILLAGE OF NEW ATHENS

The
Village of New Athens (population 1981 in year 2000 census) welcomes you to a
community with a friendly rural character, yet close enough to the Metro St.
Louis region to feel the excitement of big city attractions. New Athens
is located in southern St. Clair County, just 20 minutes from the county seat
of Belleville and just 40 minutes from downtown St. Louis, Missouri. New Athens is
located in the heart of Kaskaskia River Country, thereby offering some of the most
diverse outdoor recreational opportunities in the state. See the
Recreation link for a full list of activities available in
the area. Please
feel free to browse these pages for information in regards to the community
and the services provided by the Village of New Athens. For additional information, call
618-475-2144. Information on the
Police Department may be obtained by calling 618-475-2133. All emergency calls should dial 911. On these pages, you will find links and useful
information concerning all aspects of services that are available to the
residents of our community. From the

LICENSE, WHEEL TAX and DOG TAGS Residents are reminded that Business License, Liquor
License and Video Machine License are due for renewal. In addition to license renewals, Vehicle
Wheel Tax stickers and Dog Tags are also available for purchase. If you have any questions, please, contact
the Village Hall. VILLAGE HALL CLOSED PRESIDENT'S DAY.
HOUSE NUMBERS
Help the Ambulance and Fire Department find your
house. Please make sure your house
number is visible from the street. It
could be a matter of life or death. |
